Modified on Thu, 21 Mar at 1:29 PM

Keeping client information, activity insights, and statuses updated is essential for effective tax preparation with SmartWiz. If you’re noticing discrepancies, such as outdated client details or incorrect progress tracking, follow this guide to correct data synchronization errors and ensure your workflow remains seamless.

Step-by-Step to Resolving Sync Issues

  1. Identify the Error: Notice which data seems out of sync. Is it client information, activity insights, or status updates? Recognizing the error type is crucial for targeted troubleshooting.

  1. Log Out and Log Back In:  Logging out of and then back into your SmartWiz account can prompt a system-wide data refresh, potentially fixing minor sync issues.

  1. Refresh Your Browser: A browser refresh can often trigger a new data fetch from the SmartWiz servers. This is a quick fix for immediate sync corrections.

4. Check for Browser Updates: An outdated browser can lead to various issues, including data sync problems. Ensure your browser is up to date by checking for and applying any available updates.

To check for browser updates, usually, you can go into the settings or help section of your browser and find an option to update or see if you're on the latest version.

5. Seek Assistance from SMARTY:

Encountering persistent data synchronization issues can be challenging. If your manual refresh attempts haven't resolved the discrepancies, SMARTY, our AI chatbot, is equipped to offer further assistance. Initiate a chat with SMARTY for specialized guidance on correcting data sync errors.

To begin, find and click on the chat icon at the bottom right of the SmartWiz interface. Once the chat window opens, simply type in, "My data isn’t updating."

Ensure that your device is optimized for use with SmartWiz by closing unnecessary tabs or programs that may affect its performance. Keeping your device in optimal condition can enhance SmartWiz’s functionality, including data synchronization processes, making for a smoother overall experience.
