2. TaxWise Online Help will launch in a separate browser tab.

3. Click the "Search" tab and type "Guide to Entering Data" in the search field, then click the search button.

4. Click the title of the help article you want to access from the search results. The article will display in the right pane.

5. Use the printer icon to print the guide or the "Add to Favorites" icon to save it for easy access.

**Step 2: Entering Main Information**

1. Go back to the TaxWise Online browser tab.

2. Use the "Main Information Sheet" as the primary entry form. This form is displayed when you first open the return.

3. Enter the taxpayer's first and last name.

4. If applicable, enter the spouse's first name, last name, and Social Security number.

   - For this lesson, assume the taxpayer does not have a spouse.

5. Complete the taxpayer's address. TaxWise Online will autofill the city and state when you enter the ZIP code.

6. Enter the email address, telephone numbers, and date of birth for the taxpayer and/or spouse (if applicable). The date of birth is important for calculating age-related benefits.

7. Enter the occupation of the taxpayer and the spouse (if applicable).

**Step 3: Taxpayer Information Section**

1. If the taxpayer was in active military service in designated combat zones, select the combat zone from the drop-down list.

2. Answer the series of questions in this section:

   - Indicate if the taxpayer or spouse (if filing jointly) is excluding income from Puerto Rico.

   - Answer if the taxpayer, spouse, or dependents purchased health coverage through the marketplace. If yes, TaxWise Online will load Form 8962.

   - Indicate if the taxpayer or spouse received, sold, sent, exchanged, or acquired any financial interest in virtual currency.

3. Select checkboxes if the taxpayer or spouse was legally blind or totally and permanently disabled.

4. Enter the date of death for the taxpayer or spouse if applicable.

**Step 4: Filing Status and Exemptions**

1. Select the appropriate federal filing status (e.g., single, married filing jointly, head of household).

   - If the filing status is "Married Filing Separately," enter the spouse's name and Social Security number.

   - If the filing status is "Head of Household," and the qualifying child is not a dependent, enter the child's name and Social Security number.

   - If the filing status is "Qualifying Widow(er) with Dependent Child," enter the year the spouse died.

   - For this lesson, select "Head of Household."

**Step 5: Dependent Information**

1. Enter the dependent's information, including name, date of birth, Social Security number, relationship to taxpayer, months in the home, dependent code, and other relevant details.

2. Select the checkboxes for Dependent Care and Earned Income Credit if applicable.

3. If you have more than four dependents, add them using the Additional Dependents Worksheet.

**Step 6: State Information**

1. If you do not need to complete a state return, select the checkbox in the state information section.

2. If preparing a state return, identify the state by entering the state abbreviation.

   - For example, enter "GA" for Georgia.

**Step 7: Type of Return**

1. Select how you will file the return:

   - **Bank Products**: If the taxpayer is applying for a settlement solution with an electronically filed return.

   - **E-file Only**: If electronically filing the return without a settlement solution.
